In early 1801 a lame duck John Adams appointed about 60 new federal judges to lifetime posts. These were referred to as "midnight judges" because he was signing the paper work for these appointments at midnight on his last day in office. There was nothing the new president Thomas Jefferson could do about it.
George W. Bush needs to take a page out of Adams' playbook. Let's give him some help. Contribute any policy change or executive order you can think of that would be good for the country, and difficult for Barack Obama to undo.
For starters I know the Interior Department can take some actions to allow offshore drilling quickly. There was an article in the Washington Post to that effect the other day.
We need policy experts, lawyers, anybody, come up with your own "Midnight Judge" idea and submit it here. The country needs you.
